OXFORD, MS -- Arkansas State trailed 22-19 in the fourth set against SIUE but assembled a comeback, clinching the final set of the match to top the Cougars and move to Round 2 of the NIVC. The Red Wolves (21-11) also required a rally in the third set, using a 5-0 serving run by Ryley Gill to get back in contention.

Arkansas State will face host Ole Miss or Stephen F. Austin in the next round on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.

The Red Wolves got 20 kills from Carlisa May; Kenzie Fields added 10 kills and 11 digs, and Ellie Watkins registered 33 assists. SIUE (23-7) was led by Jackie Scott, who had 17 kills, with Ashley Witt adding 15 kills and Taylor Joens ringing up 12 kills. Samantha Knight put up 26 assists and 13 digs, and Mallory Nicholson had 21 assists.
