Round One Recap - Ole Miss vs. Stephen F. Austin

OLE MISS 3, STEPHEN F. AUSTIN 0 (25-12, 25-21, 25-19)

OXFORD, MS – The Rebels opened up its 2017 NIVC campaign with a convincing win on Wednesday night. Ole Miss hit an even .300 for the contest en route to taking down Stephen F. Austin three sets to none.

Danae Daron highlighted the Lady Lumberjacks' effort. Nine kills from Daron was a team-high for Stephen F. Austin and she also contributed with a block as well. After a quick first set, SFA came back with positive efforts, scoring 21 and 19 in the second and third frames.

Lexi Thompson and Kate Gibson were down right stellar for the home side. Gibson finished with a game-high 15 kills and 12 digs. Thompson added eight digs of her own. In total, Ole Miss' 47 kills were 14 more than Stephen F. Austin, a large factor in the decisive victory.

Ole Miss will move on to Round 2, where they'll face Arkansas State on Thursday, November 30, at 7 p.m. ET.
