Athens, GA - Battle of the Bulldogs ended in Georgia's favor in the opening round of the 2017 NIVC. After starting on a 4-0 run, Georgia kept the momentum going, sweeping Alabama A&M, 3-0.
Rachel Ritchie paced Georgia with 11 kills en route to victory with Majesti Bass right behind with eight. In total, the Bulldogs finished with 42 kills and a hitting percentage of .322. Kendall Glover and Cassidy Anderson each tallied four service aces.
Alabama A&M committed just 13 attacking errors in the match and managed to compile six blocks, compared to just three from Georgia. Syretha Pride did all she could for the Bulldogs, grabbing seven kills and totaling three blocks. Georgia's aces and 33-28 advantage in digs eventually handed the home side the match.
Georgia will battle UCF on Wednesday, November 29. The Knights and Bulldogs are slated to face off at 7 p.m. ET.
