MORGANTOWN, WV -- West Virginia secured its second 20-win season since 1991 with a three-set sweep of Temple in Round 2 action, hitting .321 for the match and making just 10 hitting errors on the night. The Mountaineers (20-12) will host a Round 3 matchup at 6 p.m. ET Tuesday, Dec. 4. The opponent will come from the Colgate/Towson/Syracuse/Albany quad that begins play Thursday. West Virginia got 12 kills from both Payton Caffrey and Morgan Montgomery, with Emma Anderson contributing 34 assists and six digs. Natania Levak added nine kills. For Temple (20-10), Katerina Papazoglou and Dana Westbrook each had nine kills. Kyra Coundourides had 31 assists. |
